Your First Visit
New patients often remark how “homey” our office is. That is good, because our goal is to offer state-of-the-art chiropractic care in a comfortable, family-like atmosphere.
Make Yourself at Home: You will be greeted by name when you enter our office. If you have already completed your new patient paperwork, great! If not, after doing so, we will get started and then you’ll meet the doctor.
We Explain Everything First: The purpose of your consultation with the doctor is to discuss your health goals and see if chiropractic is likely to help you. If it looks promising, a thorough examination will help identify the cause of your problem. If necessary, you will be referred for x-rays. Because we offer highly specific chiropractic care in our office, it is frequently necessary to study the spine from a biomechanical standpoint utilizing x-ray films. In many cases, not to see is to guess. And we won’t guess when it comes to your health!
Your Second Visit
After we study your health history and correlate your examination findings, we will make recommendations designed to help you get and keep your health. We call this the Report of Findings/Report and Recommendations. We will tell you if we can help you. And if we can’t, we will help point you in the direction of someone who can.
The Report of Findings is usually attended to on your second visit, which may be later the same week or the following week. This two-visit approach will:
- Reduce the length of your first visit
- Give us time to correlate our findings
- Avoid overloading you with too much information
In certain situations, and in the professional judgment of the doctor, we sometimes make exceptions. It just depends on your unique situation.
Regular Visits
After the investment of time needed on the first and second visits, many patients become concerned that every visit will be of equal length. This is not the case. A typical office visit may require just five to ten minutes. But don’t think that the brevity of a regular visit lessens its value! With the groundwork laid, we are able to assess what your spine and nervous system need, adjust you specifically and then get you on your way.
Like regular workouts at the gym, each visit builds on the ones before. So if you miss a visit, you may lose the momentum necessary to make the needed changes.
We recognize and respect that your time is valuable. We will do everything possible to run on time and minimize the impact of your schedule here on your busy life. Dr. Lisa is committed to respecting your time. You will find that the entire office is committed to remaining on schedule so that you can easily make chiropractic care an ongoing part of your wellness plan.
